M&N Vehicle Services joins PRG, bringing fleet maintenance and testing into the group

M&N Vehicle Services joins PRG

Precision Repair Group has invested in M&N Vehicle Services, the Peterborough business that fleet operators have trusted to keep their trucks, vans and cars on the road for more than seventeen years. M&N is the seventh business to join the group and the second in commercial vehicles. It brings mechanical repair and maintenance, MOT and HGV testing and 24-hour roadside cover, and it takes the group to 32 sites between Newcastle and London.

M&N keeps its name, its three sites and its team. Michael Ambrosio continues to lead the business, with Chris Noll alongside him.

‍

Seventeen years of keeping fleets moving

Michael Ambrosio and Chris Noll started M&N with one workshop. Today it runs a cars and vans workshop at Empson Road, an HGV workshop at Lindum, and a team that maintains a customer’s fleet at the customer’s own depot. Its technicians look after vehicles of every make to manufacturer standards, run MOT and HGV testing, and keep fleets moving for national and local operators in distribution, construction, food and drink and the public sector.

If a truck breaks down at three in the morning, M&N sends a van. That is why the fleets that use M&N stay with M&N.
‍

What this means for fleet customers

PRG already repairs commercial vehicles through DSL. With M&N the group now covers the mechanical side too. One group can service a vehicle, test it, repair it after an accident and get it back on the road, with a van on the way whenever it stops.

Vic Turner, Group CEO of PRG, said:

“This is a big day for PRG and a bigger one for the fleets we serve. M&N is the kind of business we started this group to back. Michael and Chris know the work, fleets have trusted them for seventeen years, and the whole operation runs to the same standard every day. We are not here to change that. We are here to put money behind it, grow it, and build the strongest independent repair group in the country.”

‍

What stays the same

As with every PRG business, M&N keeps what made it work. The name stays on the door and on the vans. The three sites and the team stay as they are. Customers keep the same contacts, the same service and the same people on the phone.

What changes is what sits behind them. PRG will invest in M&N’s workshops and equipment, bring in more technicians and apprentices, and open up work across the group’s six other businesses.

Michael Ambrosio, Managing Director of M&N Vehicle Services, said:

“We built M&N on doing the job properly and being there when a customer needs us. Joining PRG does not change that. It gives us the backing to do more of it, for more fleets, with a group behind us that invests in its people. For our customers and our team, it is business as usual, with more behind it.”

‍

Where PRG is going

Most of PRG today is car and van bodywork. Alongside that, the group is building a commercial vehicle business that can look after a fleet from end to end. DSL was the first step. M&N is the second, and the first with the mechanical side. The group intends to keep adding, so that a fleet operator anywhere in the country can have its vehicles serviced, tested, repaired and recovered by one group.
